Here at Lovatt Drapes & Garments, we have been providing a high quality professional repair and alteration service since 2003 with many loyal satisfied customers enjoying our expertise since the day we opened our doors. We have fifteen individual state-of-the-art machines which, coupled with 30 years worth of experience, gives us the capability of reproducing original factory finishes and styles. All our alterations are done on site and are all steamed and pressed ready to wear.
We also provide a steam service for wedding dresses at a starting price of £20.00, depending upon how many layers are on the dress.

We work by appointments, as we like to provide our clients with a one to one service, ensuring that there is plenty of time to discuss all the requirements and our clients leave happy.

A week with Peter Andre

When our Lovatt seamstress got the call, she thought it was a practical joke.

The person on the other end of the phone had asked if she could do alterations for Mysterious Girl artist Peter Andre’s clothes, ahead of his 25th anniversary UK tour.

“It took me 12 hours to do. I was working through the night to get it done, but I did it. He was amazed by them, so that really put a sparkle to it – it was brilliant.”

I was looking for a someone to alter my daughters prom dress so I asked many companies if they would do some alterations. When they looked at the dress they apologised and said they couldn’t because of the detail beads etc.

I live in Nottingham but couldn’t find anybody that would touch it so I looked on the internet and found Lovatt Drapes & Garments in Newark. I called them and told them the situation, called over the same day and to my disbelief they could do it and did in the matter of a few days! They were certainly a life saver!

Last summer, I decided to embark on a health and fitness programme, working with a personal trainer in Newark. In just 12 weeks!
